Abstract:
A security device for locking a merchandise display rod (116, 118) to a display board (102), said security device comprising: a base assembly (200) defining a longitudinally extending passageway (260) adapted to receive the merchandise display rod therein, said base assembly further defining an interior chamber (252) disposed substantially perpendicular to said passageway and having a magnetically attractable locking mechanism (250) moveable within the interior chamber between a locked position wherein the locking mechanism engages a notch (264) formed in the merchandise display rod and an unlocked position where the locking mechanism does not engage the notch (264) formed in the merchandise display rod; and a recess (206) formed in the base assembly (200) and extending substantially parallel to the passageway and inwardly from an exterior surface thereof into the base assembly and terminating proximate the interior chamber, said recess being adapted to receive a key (114) therein for moving the locking mechanism from the locked position to the unlocked position.
