Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively show the elapse of the preset time at the prescribed temperature level via the clear change of a hue by causing two specific layers held within a carrier in a noncontact state to come in contact with each other for polymerizing phenothiazine and/or phenoxazine.
SOLUTION: A layer containing an A agent held within a carrier and a layer containing a B agent not in contact with the A agent are caused to come in contact with each other for polymerizing phenothiazine and/or phenoxazine, thereby showing a time or a temperature-time integrated value as a color change, provided that the A agent and the B agent are composed of a combination of a phenothiazine and/or phenoxazine and an oxidant. Phenothiazine and/or phenoxazine, upon contact with the oxidant, starts an oxidation polymerizing reaction process, and the polymerization rate thereof follows the Arrhenius' law. Thus. the polymerization rate is defined by the temperature and time as a function and as a result, a time or a temperature-time integrated value can be shown as a color change.
