To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable of executing a function of higher added value.SOLUTION: Use of a broadcast receiver capable of receiving a digital broadcast service executable by an application in cooperation with a broadcast program. The broadcast receiver includes: a broadcast receiving unit configured to receive a broadcast wave of the digital broadcasting service; a separation unit configured to separate at least video regarding a broadcast program and application-related information from the received broadcast wave; a broadcast video reproduction unit configured to reproduce the video regarding the broadcast program; a terminal cooperation control unit configured to control a cooperation operation with a mobile information terminal; an application obtaining unit configured to obtain a predetermined application on the basis of location information obtained by referring to the application-related information; an application execution unit configured to execute the obtained predetermined application and output application execution video; and a display unit capable of displaying the video regarding the broadcast program or the application execution video. The broadcast receiver executes a process of determining whether or not to cooperate with a mobile information terminal in a terminal cooperation application.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
