Abstract:
To provide a display optical system which can reduce speckle noise, and is comact in structure and less in loss of light quantity.
The display optical system has a light source 101 which emits light by using coherent light, a first region and a second region to which the light is made incident, and a polarization control means 100 which gives a difference between the polarized state of the light component made incident to the first region and the polarized state of the light component made incident to the second region. Further, it is possible that the polarization control means 100 is provided between the light source 101 and a scanning device 104.
