PURPOSE: To obtain a display panel which is superior in flexibility and is strong to mechanical impact by constituting a liquid crystal display panel with flexible substrates of polyimide film, polyester, etc. provided with transparent electrodes.

CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display panel consists of a liquid crystal 11 impregnated in a porous film 16 of tetrafluoroethylene resin or the like or a liquid crystal layer encircled by spacers as well as substrates 13, 13a provided with transparent electrodes 12, 12a and polarizing plates 15, 15a. The substrates 13, 13a comprise a highly flexible material such as polyimide film and polyester. The polarizing plates 15, 15a are also composed of a flexible material and are affixed onto the substrates 13, 13a. Hence, this liquid crystal panel is superior in flexibility, has high mechanical strength and permits easy formation of irregular shaped panels.
