A display system 1 includes a display device 13 having optical transparency, imaging sections 101, 102 where the optical axis of an imaging optical system is set toward the display device 13 from the rear side thereof, an image processing apparatus 11 performing image processing on the basis of the image information thus captured, and an information database 12 for holding the information of a specific subject. The image processing apparatus 11 analyzes the state of a user operating the display device 13 from the front side thereof on the basis of the image information thus captured, captures the information of a subject from the information database 12 on the basis of the analysis results and displays the information on the display device 13.
