To provide a display unit which allows white balance adjustment in sub-frame gradation display to be performed without complicating a drive circuit or increasing the number of signal lines for controlling the drive circuit.
The number of row selection lines (SL) provided in each row of a display unit is equal to the number of colors of light-emitting devices (EL). Row selection signals are alternately supplied to the drive circuit (DC) of the light-emitting device for the same color, more than once in a frame period at different intervals, in a period (A) for a data line (DL) to supply data signal which determines whether the light-emitting device emits light or not and a period (B) for the data line to supply data signal which only allows the light-emitting device not to emit. The plurality of row selection lines (SL) for each row have the same period for supplying one of the alternately supplied row selection signals and different periods for supplying the other.
