The display provided with a backlight 25 illuminating an LCD (liquid Crystal Display) panel 11 including a plurality of LCD segments from the rear includes: an LCD drive circuit 12 for generating an LCD drive signal sequentially driving the plurality of the LCD segments included in the LCD panel; a dimming signal generation circuit 22 for generating a dimming signal regulating brightness of the backlight; a data correction circuit 23 for correcting the dimming signal from the dimming signal generation circuit in response to a frequency of the LCD drive signal from the LCD drive circuit; and a drive signal generation circuit 24 for generating a backlight drive signal intermittently lighting the backlight based on the dimming signal corrected from the data correction circuit.
