To provide a displaying and vending machine for containers in which a large number of containers containing foods and drinks are displayed in a small space in an easily taken out manner and which is excellent in heat retaining property.

The containers containing foods and drinks are charged into container housing areas 30 (chambers 33) from the upper opening part 12 of a container holder 6, and the lower parts of the containers surrounded by the holder 6 are heated and warmed by a hot plate 10. Since heat of the hot plate 10 is not radiated excessively into air, thermal efficiency during heating and insulating is improved. Thus, the phenomenon that temperature change in a store acts as disturbance to vary the the temperature of the containers of the foods and drinks is suppressed, thereby it becomes easy to control the temperature of the containers of the foods and drinks. As a result, even when vertically superposing and supporting a plurality of container placing units 2, a casing part and an outer wall for covering the whole machine is not required. Thus, it becomes possible to display the large number of containers containing the foods and drinks in the small space in a state where the containers of the foods and drinks can easily be taken out from anywhere.
