Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a communication system between a vehicle-mounted unit 12 and a road side unit in which the S/N ratio is enhanced in the optical communication between them by preventing dew formation in an optical unit disposed within a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Optical communication takes place between a vehicle-mounted unit 12 and a road side unit 10. The vehicle-mounted unit 12 is connected with a dew formation detector 14. The dew formation detector 14 decides a condition for forming the dew based on signals from a wiper SW 16, an air-conditioner SW 18, a defogger SW 20, and a temperature sensor 22. When the vehicle- mounted unit 12 does not communicate with the road side unit under a condition for easily forming the dew, the vehicle-mounted unit 12 is driven to generate heat for preventing dew formation in the optical vehicle-mounted unit.
