To provide a connector of a system in which a connection part is subjected to steam sterilization, the connector being disposable after used.
The present invention relates to a sterile transfer device. The device is comprised of a body having a bore formed through at least a portion of its interior. It is preferable that the bore is a center hole formed in the whole length of the body. A plunger is contained inside of the hole. The body has a first and a second end. The first end contains a surface designed to be attached to an upstream component. The second end is connected to a downstream component such as a filter, a pipeline, a sample bag and the like. The plunger has corresponding first and second ends. The first end of the plunger when it is in a closed position is in alignment with the surface of the body, which collectively forms a steamable surface and a sterile barrier against the environment to the rest of the interior of the body, the plunger and downstream components.
