To provide a distal end hood for an endoscope with excellent water washing resistance for suppressing the visual field defect of the endoscope due to air bubbles or halation generated in an endoscopic surgery and maintaining a defoaming effect even under the condition of frequently performing water washing or the like, and an endoscope unit using the same.
The distal end hood 200 for the endoscope to be mounted on the insertion part distal end of the endoscope provided with an insertion part where the observation window of an imaging part for imaging an inspection object is arranged at the distal end comprises: an attachment part 110 to be detachably attached to the end part on the distal end side of the insertion part; and a cover part 112 connected to the end part on the insertion part distal end side of the attachment part 110, for which the part more on the distal end side than the observation window in the extending direction of the insertion part is transparent. On at least the inner peripheral surface of the cover part 112, a layer F including a defoamant is provided.
