Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an equipment for measuring the distance surely in safety.
CONSTITUTION: The distance measuring equipment comprises an LED array 2, a CCD camera 3, an LED control board 2d for turning the LED array 2 on/off every predetermined time, and an image processing CPU 7 for extracting the optical image of LED array by calculating the difference between image data being picked up when the LED array 2 is turned on and off and measuring the distance to an object based on the position of optical image of LED array. A large light emission width is set for the LED array 2 so that the optical image of LED array has a width wider than the width of noise appearing in the difference caused by the shift between a data being picked up when the LED array 2 is turned on and off when a cleaning robot is moved. The image processing CPU 7 is constituted to recognize an optical image, having a width wider than a predetermined width, as the optical image of LED array.
