Abstract:
PURPOSE: To stably detect the nearest fault of a system without any operation delay.
CONSTITUTION: An under-voltage relay (UV) 2, overcurrent relay (OC) 3, and directional relay (D element) 4 are added to a distance relay 1 and, in case the nearest fault occurs when an AND gate 5A comes into existence by the simultaneous output of the UC 2 and OC 3, the output from the D element 4 is stored in a flip flop 10 and the output signal B of the flip flop 10 is outputted to an OR gate 9 as a nearest fault discriminating signal.
