PURPOSE: To obtain the distortion correction circuit in which power required for distortion correction is reduced, partial correction is attained and highly accurate correction is implemented.

CONSTITUTION: A vertical deflection output circuit 7 supplies a vertical deflection current to a vertical deflection yoke 6 to deflect vertically an electron beam, a correction current from a correction wave generating circuit 1 is outputted to a current voltage feedback circuit 2, the output is amplified by an output circuit 3, an output of the output circuit 3 applies negative feedback to the current voltage feedback circuit 2 to supply an output current of the output circuit 3 to an output transformer 4, the series resonance is implemented by using the vertical deflection yoke 6, the output transformer 4 and a resonance capacitor 5a to supply the series resonance current to the vertical deflection yoke 6 thereby correcting partially vertical pin cushion distortion.
