To provide a distortion detection apparatus capable of detecting appropriate load values without being affected by ambient temperatures to be used even if temperatures on a strain element have changed.
The distortion detection apparatus is provided with the cylindrical strain element 12 which is distorted due to load; resistance elements arranged in the strain element 12 and having a resistance value which changes according to the amount of distortion; and a signal processing circuit connected to the resistance elements. Screw parts 14 are formed on the upper side and lower side of the strain element 12 in such a way as to be on both sides of the strain element 12. The signal processing circuit is arranged in a case 16, and the case 16 is mounted to the strain element 12. The resistance elements are arranged in the peripheral surface of the strain element 12 to connect the resistance elements to the signal processing circuit.
