To provide a distortion detector capable of detecting a proper load value even when a temperature concerned in a strain element is varied, without being affected by an ambient temperature used therein.
This distortion detector includes the cylindrical strain element 12 for generating a distortion by a load, a resistance element arranged in the strain element 12, with a resistance value varied in response to a distortion amount, and a signal processing circuit 23 wire-connected to the resistance element, a correction means is provided to correct the first and second output voltages output based on an abnormal distortion of the strain element 12 generated caused by the temperature variation, and the correction means includes a temperature detecting element provided with a temperature detecting circuit 25 for detecting the temperature of the strain element 12 or in the periphery of the strain element 12, and a correction circuit 27 for regulating a voltage value of an electric power source voltage, based on a temperature detection signal output from the temperature detecting circuit 25.
