Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the correction of chromatic aberrations and to increase an Abbe number by forming the optical element in such a manner that at least one kind of metals of specific mol% content in terms of an oxide and at least one kind of another metals of specific mol% content in terms of an oxide have the concn. distributions in the directions opposite from each other. CONSTITUTION:As the metals to contribute to the refractive index to be imparted into glass, 1 to 40mol%, more preferably 15 to 30mol% in terms of mol% of the oxide of the metals of the group A and 2 to 15mol%, more prefer ably 5 to 10mol% in terms of mol% of the oxide of the metals of the group B have the concn. distributions in the directions opposite from each other. The metals of the group A are Ba, La, Sr, Ca, Ge, Zr, Y, Zn and the metals of the group B are Ta, Nb, Pb, Ti, Bi, Zn, Zr. This optical element is excellent in terms of the correction of the chromatic aberrations in this way. Namely, the Abbe number increases with an increase in the refractive index.
