Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select and construct a data protection function in each node and to enable access from plural computers by generating and storing redundant data adapted to a data protection configuration designated by a data division integrating means.
SOLUTION: A host connecting means 101 of a node A10 sends the logical address and data of a virtual storage device 141 to a data division integrating means 102. The division integrating means 102 of the node A10 converts the logical address of the virtual storage device 141 into the logical addresses of virtual storage devices 142 and 143 according to data division storage information. Also, when redundant data are needed, the redundant data are produced and the logical addresses of the devices 142 and 143 are attached according to the data division storage information. It is possible to select and realize a data protection configuration function in each node. Also, it is possible to select and realize RAIDs 0 to 6 in each node by using any of the RAIDs 0 to 6 for data protection configuration.
