PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluid distribution device having a means for bringing fluid into a equilibrium state by providing a release end guide tube for a collecting tray attaching a first end of the guide tube to a liquid passage of the collecting tray and releasing a second end of the tube into a mixing chamber.
SOLUTION: A wall 5 of a reactor 1 and a supporting grid 10 supports a reaction bed 15 of particulate solid contact matter such as catalyst. This distribution device consists of a collecting tray 20 horizontally supported on shelf-shaped projections and a similarly horizontal distribution tray 45 below the collection tray. A fluid deflecting plate 55 is provided above a central gas passage 30 of the collecting tray 20 to feed the gas stream to an aperture 95 in a side wall 100. A mixing chamber 60 is arranged between the collecting tray 20 and the distribution tray 45 and communicated with the collecting tray through release guide tubes 65 having a first end 70 and a second end 75. Liquid downwardly directed from the reaction bed 15 is collected on the collecting tray 20, becomes an accumulated liquid layer covering a liquid passage 40 and then is directed into the guide tube 65. Therefore, liquid streams directed from the second ends 75 is caused to collide each other to promote a transition to an equilibrium state of a liquid phase.
