Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the fuel filling efficiency by forming an additional suction hole to communicate through a pump chamber and a shaft hole, at a plunger, and opening and closing the additional suction hole by a suction ring installed slidable to the plunger, in a distribution type fuel injection pump furnishing an electromagnetic spill valve.

CONSTITUTION: When a plunger moves back linking to the operation of an engine, the fuel is absorbed to a pump chamber 1, a suction port 23, a suction group 31, and a compression chamber 21, in this order, and furthermore, the fuel is absorbed to an additional suction hole 34, a shaft hole 32, and the compression chamber 21, in this order. In this case, by turning a regulation screw 53 to displace a suction ring 51, and converting the maximum opening width of the additional suction hole 34, the timing of cutting off the additional suction hole 34 from the pump chamber 1 is regulated. Then, when the plunger 3 moves forward, the fuel is compressed into the compression chamber 21, the shaft hole 32, a distribution group 33, a distribution port 24, a delivery valve 15, and an injection nozzle (not shown in the figure), in this order, and the compression delivery of the fuel is finished by communicating the compression chamber 21 and the pump chamber 1 with the electromagnetic spill valve 14.
