PURPOSE: To fully cool the periphery of a roller which is likely to generate heat, reduce cam jump, control spark advance and the injection quantity of fuel separately, and improve the fuel intake efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: A low pressure side fuel path 27 formed from a fuel entrance 26 to a feed pump 4, and a chamber 8 capable of being connected to a fuel flowing-in and out port 31 are confined in a housing, and a cam ring, a shoe, a roller are provided on the low pressure side fuel path 27 to conduct a low pressure-low temperature fuel to the periphery of the roller. In the rear of the shoe, a space 28 connected to the low pressure side fuel path 27 without restriction on the upstream side is formed. With the cam ring and a control sleeve 34, their phases are fixed by an adapter 25 provided on the boundary between the low pressure side fuel path and the chamber. The intake path can be shortened by forming the intake path communicated with the intake port in the adapter 25.
