To provide a distributor type fuel injection pump capable of preventing the generation of burning in a pump cover of a feed pump 6 and a rotor sliding surface of a plate 35 even under the operating condition that an excessive thrust load or an eccentric load is applied to a drive shaft or under the operating condition with the fuel deteriorated in lubricating property thereof.
The whole surface of the pump cover 34 of the feed pump 6 and the rotor sliding surface of the plate 35 built in the distributor type fuel injection pump are coated with the molybdenum disulfide coating having a remarkably small coefficient of friction so that a coefficient of friction in the pump cover 34 of the feed pump 6 and the rotor sliding surface of the plate 35 is reduced and that the generation of burning can be restricted. Since clearances between a rotor 32 and the pump cover 34 and between the rotor 32 and the plate 35 can be reduced, leak quantity of the fuel from the feed pump 6 is reduced, and discharging performance of the feed pump 6 is improved.
