PURPOSE: To obtain a fuel injection pump for distributing a high pressure fuel charge to a plurality of fuel injection devices without using a rotary engagement member necessary to be sealed against the fuel.

CONSTITUTION: Reciprocating plungers 14 are reciprocated by a rotary annular cam 60 in a plurality of radially disposed plunger bores 16. The plunger pumps of them each acts as a pump plunger and simultaneously as a distributor valve for controlling the opening and closing of a corresponding distributor port 70. In the condition that a plurality of distributor valves are opened sequentially, one at a time, while the others plungers are actuating as pumps, the plurality of distributor ports discharge the high pressure fuel charge sequentially one at a time.
