Abstract:

To produce the subject new compound, capable of manifesting selective excellent separating ability for metallic ions and having a high transport rate by reacting a specific Kemp's triacid anhydride acid halide with other compounds in the presence of a dehydrohalogenating agent.

This disubstituted derivative of Kemp's triacid is represented by formula I [Y1 and Y2 are each OAr or NHAr (Ar is an aralkyl)], e.g. Kemp's triacid diphenethylamine. The compound is obtained by reacting a Kemp's triacid anhydride acid halide (e.g. Kemp's triacid anhydride acid chloride) with compounds represented by the formula Y1-H and Y2-H in the presence of a dehydrohalogenating agent (e.g. triethylamine) in a solvent such as tetrahydrofuran at a temperature within the range of, e.g. 10-60°C.
