PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new DNA fragment, having a specific base sequence, organic a tyrosine kinase gene participating in sex-linked agammaglobulinemia(XLA) and utilizable for the gene diagnosis including the diagnosis of carrier of the XLA and gene therapy, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This new DNA fragment comprises any one sequence of base sequences represented by formulas I, II, etc., contains a gene [agammaglobulinemia tyrosine kinase (atk) gene] participating in sex-linked agammaglobulinemia(XLA) and utilizable for gene diagnosis including the diagnosis of a carrier of the XLA and gene therapy by analyzing the atk gene using a chromosomic DNA as a specimen. The DNA fragment is obtained by collecting peripheral blood of a healthy human, isolating an mRNA therefrom according to a conventional method, synthesizing a cDNA using the mRNA as a template, providing the atk gene by cloning of a human genomic library using the cDNA and selecting a subclone including the cDNA region of the gene.
