Title:
DNA SEQUENCE OF EBV GENOME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3164497
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new DNA sequence encoding an Epstein-Barr-Virus(EBV)- related antigen protein having a specific amino acid sequence and useful for producing the EBV-related antigen protein used for preventing and treating EBV-related diseases, or the like.
SOLUTION: This new DNA sequence of an EBV genome corresponds to at least a part of an EBV-related antigen protein having an amino acid sequence containing amino acid sequences expressed by formulas I and II. The new DNA sequence is useful for producing the EBV-related antigen protein for diagnosing, preventing and treating EBV-related diseases such as African Burkitt's lymphoma(BL), nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) and infectious mononucleosis. The DNA sequence is obtained by extracting a genome DNA from EBV collected from the serum of a patient of the infectious mononucleosis or the nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC), producing an EBV library from the genome DNA by a conventional method and subsequently screening the EBV library with a probe comprising a part of a gene encoding the EBV-related antigen protein.
