To provide an inexpensive resin blade alternative to a metallic blade, meeting performances including plate rigidity, abrasion resistance, heat resistance and hosility to a mating object each demanded as a doctor blade mounted on any of various kinds of rolls for paper manufacturing equipment and iron manufacturing equipment.
The objective doctor blade is made from a fiber-reinforced thermosetting composite sheet where reinforcing fibers and an epoxy resin are merged together by alternately laminating plain-woven glass cloth-based epoxy resin prepregs and unidirectional carbon strand-based epoxy resin prepregs to make a material with its obverse and reverse faces representing plain-woven glass cloths followed by heating and molding the material; wherein the fiber direction of the unidirectional strand coincides with the shorter direction of the doctor blade.
