Title:
DOCTOR BLADE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63116852
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the operating efficiency of an intaglio printing machine by making it possible to perform long-term good quality printing, by forming an abrasion resistant layer harder than a plate-shaped matrix having elasticity to the surface of the matrix or laminating said layer between a plurality of matrices.

CONSTITUTION: A doctor blade 6 is equipped with a thin plate-shaped matrix 9 formed of a material having elasticity, for example, heat treated carbon steel and thin blade tip parts 8a, 8b are formed to both edge parts thereof and abrasion resistant layers 10 are applied to both surfaces of the matrix 9. Each abrasion resistant layer 10 is formed by applying a material harder than the matrix 9, for example, titanium nitride to the matrix by ion plating. Or, the doctor blade 6 is constituted by laminating an abrasion resistant layer 10' between the first matrix 9 and the second matrix 12. That is, for example, the doctor blade 6 is prepared by applying the abrasion resistant layer 10' to the single surface of the first matrix 9 and further applying the second matrix 12 thereto by plasma spraying. The doctor blade 6 is held by a holding mechanism 7 and pressed to a plate cylinder 1 at a predetermined angle by pressing force and the ink adhered to a non-image part among the ink adhered to the peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 1 is removed.
