To provide a doctor device a which has a simple constitution and needs less space and has no restriction on setting doctoring conditions.
In the doctor device used in gravure printing, a mechanism in which a doctor blade itself is made to be a belt type and while the belt-type doctor blade 1 is rotated and moved, it is pushed to a plate cylinder is provided. As a mechanism for rocking a doctor holding trestle like the conventional doctor device is not necessary, the constitution can be made very simple and a space around the doctor device can be ensured. For rocking of the doctor blade 1, as it is only enough to change rotating and moving speed of the doctor blade 1, the rocking speed of the doctor blade 1 can be set without receiving any restriction on rotating speed of the plate cylinder and in addition, as there exists no movement back and forth caused by rocking as before, there exists no stopping point when left and right are switched.
