A first document tray for sequentially feeding documents one at a time from the upside of a document bundle set with the reading surface directed upward, an ejecting tray having a switch back roller and for ejecting the read documents, and a second document tray for sequentially feeding documents one at a time from the downside of a document bundle set with the reading surface directed downward are arranged sequentially from the outside. Either of the document supplied from the first document tray and the document supplied from the second document tray is read by the single reading section and delivered to the delivery tray.
