Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the sagging of a paper feed tray without hindering paper discharge of a document in a document feeder including a body case having a paper feed port and a paper discharge port located on a lower side of the paper feed port, the paper feed tray provided on a side of the paper feed port, and a paper discharge tray disposed on a lower side of the paper feed tray so as to receive a document discharged from the paper discharge port.SOLUTION: A document feeder includes: a shaft section 261 which is provided on a lower surface side of a paper feed tray 223 and extends in a direction orthogonal to a document discharge direction in a plan view; a columnar member 263 which is rotatably mounted around the shaft section 261 with respect to the lower surface of the paper feed tray 223, turns to a vertical direction by self-weight and crosses a document discharge passage between the paper feed tray 223 and a paper discharge tray 228; and a movable member 266 which is provided in the paper discharge tray 228 and has a first position engaged to a lower end of the columnar member 263 so as to immovably restrict the columnar member 263 and a second position separated from a lower end of the columnar member 263 so as to release the restriction.
