Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve efficiency for document retrieval by selecting a document corre sponding to retrieval conditions by calculating the degree of certainty for each docu ment in respect to the retrieval conditions according to a calculation formula set in advance at a document certainty calculation part in a document retrieving means.
CONSTITUTION: Document management part 9 equipped with a condition analysis part 5, document retrieval part 6, journal information management part 7 and keyword coupling matrix management part 8 is connected to a request processing part 4. In this case, the condition analysis part 5 analyzes the retrieval condition inputted by a user and transforms the sentence into a certain form corresponding to the efficient retrieval. The document retrieval part 6 defines a value expressing the suitability of each document in respect to the retrieval condition inputted by the user as the document certainty. Then, a document certainty calculation part is provided to calculate the document certainty based on the journal information and the information of a keyword coupling matrix, etc., describing the information of relation between keywords according to the prescribed calculation formula set beforehand in order to calculate this document certainty, and the document corresponding to the retrieval condition is selected. Thus, the user can more vaguely designate the retrieval conditions.
