PURPOSE: To allow a user to operate the document preparing device without being conscious of what is a storage medium or the like by integrating data processing as a floppy disk independently of a storage medium or a file system.
CONSTITUTION: The whole floppy file 3 is stored in a file prepared by an MS- DOS system in a shared file 5. In the case of reading/writing the file 3 from/in the file 5, an address specified by a track or the like should be converted into an address in the file prepared by the MS-DOS system and the conversion is automatically executed by an address conversion part. Thus the whole processing to be executed in accordance with a difference in a place where the file 3 is to be stored or a file management system is automatically executed by a document preparing device 2. Namely a user can access the file 3 without being conscious of the place in which the file 3 is to be practically stored.
