PURPOSE: To provide a document retrieval device capable of performing retrieval without lowering retrieval efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: This retrieval device is equipped with a sampling part 101 which reads out document data from a storage part in which the document data is stored paragraphed at every page in unit of page, a display time decision part 104 which decides display time corresponding to the specification of data included in a read out page, a first display control part 106 which receives the document data sequentially at every page from the sampling part 101 and outputs the document data at every display time to a display part 107 sequentially by the display time decision part 104, and the display part 107 which displays the document data at every output of the document data at every page from the display control part 106.
