Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dog clutch easy in engagement and capable of suppressing drag loss.SOLUTION: A dog clutch including a rotatable rotary member 4, a fixed member 5 disposed in opposition to the rotary member 4 in a manner of being movable in an axial direction and not rotatable in a rotating direction, and an actuator 6 generating thrust for moving the fixed member 5 in the axial direction, and being fixed by stopping the rotation of the rotary member 4 by engaging the rotary member 4 and the fixed member 5, is provided with a first taper portion 5c of which an inner diameter is increased toward a tip, on the fixed member 5, and is provided with a variable diameter ring member 7 formed with a second taper portion 7a slidable corresponding to the first taper portion 5c to be brought into contact therewith, and radially contracted by action of component force of the thrust of the actuator 6 to be frictionally engaged with the rotary member 4 prior to engagement of the fixed member 5 and the rotary member 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
