PURPOSE: To prevent the tilt of a chassis due to the opening and closing of a gull wing type door by extending the door into arch form ranging from one side of a car interior to a side member on the other side and allowing said door to be pivotally installed onto a prescribed pivotal installation part.
CONSTITUTION: The position of the pivotal installation part 7 of an arch-shaped door 4 installed over the range from a side sill 6 to a side member 5 onto the side member 5 is set under the meeting line (b) of the center points O of the circles which pass through the center G of gravity and contact with the crossing line (d) between the vertical plane (c) on the chassis side which passes through front and rear wheels 2 and 3 and the turning locus plane (a) including the turning locus of the center G of gravity of the door 4, on said turning locus plane (a). With such constitution, the turning locus of the center G of gravity does not project from the crossing line (b), and the center of gravity of the door does not operate outside the vertical plane (c) passing through the front and rear wheels 2 and 3 when the door is opened and closed, and the chassis is prevented from being tilted.
