PURPOSE: To reduce noises by use of a low-cost device by providing a constrained guidance opposite a snap-in roller provided on the extension of a guidance track for a backup snap-in roller provided at the free end of a door holding rod.

CONSTITUTION: A retainer housing 1 is attached to a door attachment part, a door, or a door post and a door holding rod 2 is attached to the other door attachment part in such a way as to be rotatable about an axis parallel to a door hinge. A guidance track 10 for a backup snap-in roller 3 provided at the free end of the door holding rod 2 is provided on the outer surface of the retainer housing. The retainer housing 1 is provided with a constrained guidance 23 curved in the form of an arch opposite a snap-in roller 5 provided on the extension of the guidance track 10. Thus, uniform, strong and flexible braking and retaining forces are exerted in the directions of both movements of the door and the door can be actuated with reduced noises.
