To prohibit the cancellation of the locking condition of a door closing lock device when operating an unlocking operation part in error.
The door closing lock device includes an engaging member 22 mounted on a vehicle door, an engaged member with which the engaging member 22 at a lock position engages when a door closes a doorway, and the unlocking operation part 32 operable to move the engaging member 22 from the lock position to an unlock position. It further includes an unlock prohibiting mechanism 50 for prohibiting the operation of the unlocking operation part 32 when the engaging member 22 is at the lock position. The unlock prohibiting mechanism 50 can cancel the operation prohibiting condition of the unlocking operation part 32 with manual operation to continuously add force to the unlock prohibiting mechanism 50 in a fixed direction.
