To provide a door handle with a locking device, for a vehicle, which dispenses with a key for releasing a door lock, and allows the operator to simultaneously achieve unlocking and door opening through one-touch operation, to thereby solve weaknesses of a key, including illegal door opening by means of an illegal key, tampering of the key, keyhole deterioration due to weather or ultraviolet rays, bother of carrying or storage of the key and a fear of loss of the key, and difficulty in unlocking in the dark.

According to the structure of the door handle, a fingerprint authenticating module (2) is arranged on a rear surface of a door handle finger placing section (3a) such that a fingerprint sensor (1) is exposed to the outside from a door handle inner cover (3b). Therefore when a driver inserts the fingers into the door handle and places the fingers on the door handle to open the door, the fingerpring authenticating module directly takes the fingerprint of the driver and collates the same with fingerprint data registered beforehand, at high speed and with high accuracy. The fingerprint authenticating module (2) is formed by mounting the fingerprint sensor (1), an MPU, a flash memory, and an SDRAM on a small printed board, and incorporating authenticating software in the flash memory.
