PURPOSE: To set a door to be opened on either side of a front surface or a back surface, and prevent it from being unexpectedly opened by disposing two latches, upper and lower, and providing a front inclination surface on a front surface of one latch, and a back inclination surface on a back surface of the other latch.
CONSTITUTION: Two latches, upper and lower, to advance/retract into a latch receptacle 3 in a door frame 2 are disposed on the free end side of a door 1, and a front inclination surface 6 is provided on a front surface part of one latch 4, while a back inclination surface 7 is provided on a back surface of the other latch 5. The latch 5 as a stopper when a front handle 8 is operated to open the door 1 forward is retracted toward the door 1 to open the door 1 forward, and the latch 4 as a stopper when a back handle 9 is operated to be opened backward is retracted to open the door 1 backward. When the door 1 is closed, the latches 4, 5 prevent the door 1 from being unexpectedly opened backward and forward.
