To provide a door lock device for a vehicle, in which a lock release member, which is biased toward a standby position side while enabling operation between an operation position for operating a ratchet toward engaging with latch side and the standby position for allowing free rotation of the ratchet, is driven toward the operation position side by a driving member which engages with the lock release member when an actuator is actuated, whereby a locked state of a door can be released by the actuator being actuated and also the locked state of the door can be released by manual operation, and in which, the door can be returned to a state in which the door can be kept closed even if the driving member sticks in the operation position due to a malfunction of the actuator when a door lock is in a released state.
In a door lock device for a vehicle, an engagement release mechanism 96 releases an engagement between a driving member 67 and a lock release member 66 in response to manual operations for releasing a locked state of a door while the driving member 67 is engaged with the lock release member 66.
