To miniaturise a door lock mechanism for a vehicle and miniaturise a door open/close structure for a vehicle which makes selectable either swing mode or slide mode.
The open/close structure is provided with a base member 22 which is supported by a vehicle body 12 with flexible swinging, and the front door is supported by the base member 22 through the medium of a slide open/close mechanism. The door lock mechanism 31 for the vehicle is provided between the vehicle body 12 and the base member 22, and the door lock mechanism 31 for the vehicle is provided with a check arm 32 which is attached to the vehicle body 12 rockably. Then a lock hole 48 is formed in the check arm 32. A lock pin 46 driven forward and backward by a cam mechanism 61 is provided to the base member 22. When the lock pin 46 is engaged with the lock hole 48, the base member 22 is fixed to the vehicle body 12, and the front door is opened and closed in the slide mode. When the fixation of the base member 22 is released, the front door is opened and closed in the swing mode.
