Abstract:
The door (2) of an oven (51) is locked shut during the high temperature cleaning process. The door has a bar (91) on its back in which there is a slot (912). A bimetal strip (94) receives heat from the inside of the oven through a conducting pin (942) in the top of the oven. A hook (941) on the end of the bimetal strip engages in the slot (912) in the bar on the back of the door and prevents the door opening. A thermostatically controlled motor (96) drives a camshaft (961) which depresses a pin (943) belos a predetermined temperature. The pin deflects the bimetal strip and thus prevents the hook on its end locking the door the predetermined temperature.
