CONSTITUTION: Door opening/closing mechanism in a console for an automobile is provided with a moving door 12 and a rotating door 13 of two-piece structure fitted to the upper face of a console box main body 11. The moving door 12 is moved along the upper face of the console box body 11 to open/close in a folding type. The door opening/closing mechanism is further provided with a guide rail 16 provided along the upper part of the console box body 11, a link 19 fixed to a rotary shaft 18 placed horizontally at the end part 12a of the moving door 12, a connecting pin planted at the link 19 so as to be engaged with the guide rail 16, and a guide pin planted at the link 19 so as to be able to regulate the operation of the link 19, a spring means 22 for energizing the rotary shaft 18 in a specified rotating direction, and locking means 23, 24 for locking the rotary shaft 18.
