To provide a door stay which allows the size of an arm projecting in the storage space of an enclosure to be reduced as much as possible so as to enhance the degree of freedom for the arrangement of devices to be stored.
A door stay 1 includes a first arm 2 and a second arm 3 with respective one ends pivotally fitted to each other. The arms 2 and 3 are arranged to allow for relative rotation in a vertical plane to each other. The other end of the arm 2 is connected to a bearing member 5 which is rotatably supported in a horizontal direction at the lower part of the enclosure 22 so as to be relatively rotatable with a horizontal pivot pin 6. The other end of the arm 3 is connected to a bearing member 9 which is rotatably supported in a horizontal direction at the lower part on the inner side of a door 23 so as to be relatively rotatable with a pivot pin 10. The arms 2 and 3 are thereby bent upward with respect to each other, when the door 23 is rotated to close. The arms 2 and 3 are rotated in a horizontal direction relative to the enclosure 22 and the door 23, respectively, so as to increase the angle therebetween, when the door 23 is rotated to open. The arms 2 and 3 extend along an approximately horizontal straight line, when the door is opened.
