To provide a door suspension system that can be easily and inexpensively manufactured and easily and quickly installed.

A connector 9 has a substantially C-shaped profile enclosing a flat plate 3 and a rail 4. The connector 9 is mounted with a support strip 12 and a connecting means 13 for suspension of a door 14 of a lift. The flat plate 3 is mounted with a magnetic path 16 and the strip 12 is mounted with an elongate primary winding 15 of a linear motor so that the magnetic path 16 between the magnetic path 16 and the primary winding 15 cancels at least part of the weight of the door 14. The door suspension system further comprises a substantially cylindrical bearing with an axial recess. The bearing is disposed in an opening 11 of a supporting means 10, and the rail 4 is introduced into the recess.
