Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a character selecting device for reading out input character codes(ICCs) from plural OCR processors and selecting a code (MPC) with the mathematically highest accuracy out of plural ICCs based upon conviction factors(CFs) relative to respective ICCs.
CONSTITUTION: A selecting device in a code judging system reads out plural ICCs sent from plural OCR processors and having respective relative CFs. The selecting device selects a character (MPC) with the mathematically highest accuracy out of the plural ICCs based upon the relative values of joint conviction factors(JCFs) calculated for N similar ICCs obtained from N OCR processors in accordance with the following equation. JCFn=1-(1-CF1)(1-CF2)...(1- CFn).
