To provide a doorway device for easily pulling out a foreign object caught up between a sliding door and a movable part of a vertical post.
The doorway device for an elevator landing hall has the sliding door 3 displaced between an opening position and a closing position, and a vertical frame 21 configuring a side part of the doorway 1 for the landing hall. The vertical frame 21 has a vertical-frame fixed part 211, and a vertical-frame movable part 212 changing between a normal position and a separate position. In addition, the doorway device has: a torque motor 43 for generating the torque by supplying a current and changing the position of the vertical-frame movable part 212; and a control device 42 for controlling the supply of the current to the torque motor 43. The control device 42 supplies the current to the torque motor 43 so that the vertical-frame movable part 212 comes to the normal position, and stops the supply of the current to the torque motor 43 if a value of the current supplied to the torque motor 43 exceeds an abnormality-detection reference value Y.
