Title:
DOUBLE BEARING REEL FOR FISHING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3558626
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double bearing fishing reel provided with a line-length metering device utilizing an ultrasonic sensor, having reduced size and weight of the reel body while sufficiently keeping the distance between the ultrasonic sensor and the surface of the line wound on the spool and having excellent assemblability in the assembling of the reel.
SOLUTION: A spool wound with a fishing line is rotatably supported between side plates of a reel body. The length of the fishing line is calculated from the detection signal transmitted from a means to detect the rotational number of the spool and the detection signal from a metering means to determine the wound diameter of the line based on the time from the emission of an ultrasonic pulse against the wound surface of the line on the spool to the reception of the reflected pulse with the ultrasonic sensor. The determined line length is displayed on a display. The ultrasonic sensor is placed in sensor-attaching holes opened on both side plates and directed toward the face of the fishing line wound on the spool.
